This design has been inspired with one of my most favourite of wildflowers; the Wild Carrot often referred to as Queen Anne's Lace...isn't that a great name!
I wanted a design that could add a little softness to backgrounds or be used on finer cloth such as silk or chiffon and the beautiful gracefulness of Queen Anne's Lace is perfect for doing just that!
Often these wildflowers are added today to gardens by designers for their gentleness to a garden design but back in Medieval times things would have been a little different and these beauties would have been found in every cottage garden to be added to the cooking pot, created into salves and the seeds saved for the apothecary.
As a Fen 'gal with a link to the land myself, I love that there is a connection to this gem not only for her beauty but with her herbal remedies!
