I found this beautiful gem nestling along the pathway leading up to Sancreed Church whilst visiting one day.
Commonly known as silverweed, this gorgeous wildflower is actually a member of the rose family.
I really dislike the term 'weed' as it portratys a straggly old piece of greenery not welcome in any area and I have to say Silverweed is certainly no 'weed'!
She is the most graceful wildflower with gorgeusly soft and delicate French Grey leaves revealing her inner most secret hiding on her underside; beautiful silvery white leaves that glisten in the sunshine.
As you can imagine I was immediately drawn to her natural beauty!
Sancreed Church dates back to 14th century and I find it really comforting to know that silverweeds graced the same pathways even then. They would have felt the silk and linen skirts gently brush past....
As with all my designs, Sancreed Silver is my version of silverweed with a slight twist... I hope you like creating with her!
